Reasons You May Want to Sanitize Your Toothbrush

Reasons You May Want to Sanitize Your ToothbrushYour toothbrush is one of the dirtiest items in your bathroom. Just think about all the bacteria you brush off your teeth twice a day! Most people just rinse their toothbrush after they are done. That seems sufficient to sanitize your toothbrush, but is it?

Reasons You Should Sanitize Your Toothbrush

Sanitizing, or disinfecting, your toothbrush is important. This step ensures that the bacteria you just brushed off your teeth will not multiply on your toothbrush. If the bacteria are allowed to multiply on your toothbrush, you could be worse off than before you brushed your teeth!

Sanitize and Replace Your Toothbrush Regularly

The easiest way to clean your toothbrush is to run hot water over your toothbrush after you are done brushing. This cleans your toothbrush sufficiently, but a toothbrush sanitizer disinfects your toothbrush. A toothbrush sanitizer uses ultraviolet light to kill the bacteria left on your toothbrush. It also steams your toothbrush and uses dry heat to ensure the toothbrush will not house bacteria. These handy gadgets come in all sizes and are easy to use.

It is also a good idea to replace your toothbrush every three months. That way you will not continue to harbor bacteria on your toothbrush. Most people enjoy a new toothbrush. Treat yourself today.
